Geotechnical monitoring of reinforced soils in industrial area

Details:

In order to meet the need to increase production at the West Java plant, the Property has expanded the industrial area by regulating a significant portion of the slope by means of an embankment in reinforced soils crossed by pipelines for the transport of hazardous industrial fluids.

Following deformations and subsidences of the embankment, together with the consolidation of the same, it was necessary to implement the monitoring in continuous and in real time of the stability of the ground in order to allow the rapid closing of the SO2 gas pipelines in the event of deformations incompatible with the functionality of the pipelines themselves.

The monitoring is carried out with two container solutions equipped with 30 and 40 m long DMS 2D Slope columns with integrated piezometers. In the containers are also provided replacement modules and equipment necessary for any maintenance, as well as conditioning systems to allow operation of extractions and maintenance in line even in harsh environmental conditions. The system is completed with server for the integrated management of the 2 systems via GSM/GPRS. In November 2017, a cabling upgrade of the optical fiber plants is underway.
